While most people realize that a dog needs a little bit of training in order to develop a certain concept of obedience most people are unfamiliar with what is needed to properly train the dog. That is, most people have never actually seen a dog being trained so they have a very limited understanding of what this entails. As such, when they attempt to train their dog themselves they do not necessarily maximize the way in which the dog should be trained. If one wanted to properly train their dog they would need the proper dog training tools required for such proper training. Of course, in order to understand this one needs to actually look at the dog training tools that are required for proper training and then also to understand what these tools specifically do and how to properly employ them. Basic Tools Probably the most popular dog training tools available is the restraining collar that essential ‘pinches’ the dog when it moves to far away from his owner while being on a leash. Also, there are variants of this type of collar that spray water into the dog’s face when the dog barks! Yes, this may seem somewhat cruel but it is harmless. Also harmless is the ‘shock’ collar that sends a minor ‘zap’ on a dog that ventures beyond a certain range of the yard. While some may feel these particular dog training tools are cruel, it is much, much crueler to allow the dog to run away and become lost. The Reason for the Tools Ultimately, the reason these tools are employed is to ascertain a certain specific behavior in the dog. Now, this does not mean that the owner is attempting to enforce some sort of dominance over the dog or to impose his will on the dog. No, the real reason for properly employing such dog training tools is to make sure that the dog’s safety is maintained. After all, if the dog was not properly trained he could prove to be a danger to himself. Needless to say, this would not be beneficial to either the dog or his owner.
